The evening was beginning to fall and with it the light when I found an incredible coalition of males. I spent hours photographing the five magnificent lions, wishing that the day would never end. In this portrait I was captivated by the moment of absolute stillness where one of them rests with a deep gaze that projects a mixture of power and melancholy. I was able to position myself at a low angle to photograph his upright face and wild mane among the grass, which together with the intensity of his eyes are the protagonists of this minimalist composition.
